Lexcom  Inc. had its humble beginnings in 1896 when local residents strung the first phone lines for Lexington Telephone Company. Even in the past, the company was a leader in being the first in North Carolina to bring direct dialing (without an operator) to the state. Additionally, the company quietly began laying fiber optic cable long before it became a buzzword.

Today Lexcom Inc. is the holding company for Lexcom Telephone, Lexcom Long Distance, Lexcom Cable Services and Lexcom Wireless, each of which are included under our assumed name of Lexcom Communications.

At Lexcom, the connections that matter go beyond a clear, static-free line. It's the person-to-person connection when you drop by our office; it's fast repairs and technicians who listen and respond; it's investing in new technologies that make your life safer, simpler, and more secure; and it's giving back to our community.

That's why Lexcom lives by the motto:
every connection matters

Lexcom's dedicated employees work in nine departments to service business and residential telephone customers, digital wireless customers, cable television subscribers, Internet users and long distance customers.

At Lexcom Communications, the connection that really matters is our COMMUNITY CONNECTION. Being your hometown telecommunications company means a lot to us. We grew up with you, and we live, work and play here, too. We want to show you just how much we care about our community!

As just one example of our community involvement, the Lexcom Telephone Pioneer Club, whose members are Lexcom employees and retirees, is active in supporting a variety of community causes.

When we say we're your hometown connection, we mean friends helping friends. That's what Lexcom is all about.

In a world of ever-changing technology, it's nice to know that you have one source to help you muddle
through all the new information. After all, it is important that you can use the technology to help make your
life better. It means people giving meaning to technology. It's the way we work with our customers, they are
knowledgeable and satisfied with our service.  It's what we call "human touch technology."
